Buyer's Item is stuck in America

With selling on Ebay, we didn't want to sell outside of the UK as it's too much hassle. We started getting buyers who had the address of a Lichfield Depot (we sell O rings for Thetford toilets). I assumed it was for lorry drivers with toilets in their cabs, but I just found out that Ebay is sending our items to the USA. This buyer, is going nuts because its stuck at LAX, he claims the box is damaged, UPS hasn't received it and wants a refund. He has now issued an item not received report.

I'm struggling to contact someone on Ebay to help me out, because we never wanted to sell abroad. Can someone help me out with this please on what to do? I don't want to lose money because of something that's not my fault.

Thank you in advance.

Buyer's Item is stuck in America

If you have sold an item through GSP and the buyer has opened an INR case, you need to call CS and they will close the case as you have protection for an item not received.

Make sure you say that it has been shipped from the Ebay hub.

They cannot leave you negative feedback once the case has been closed.

Did eBay provide the Lichfield address for the delivery address?  Do you have tracking to show delivery to that address?

If so, enter it into the case the buyer has opened and it will close in your favour,  no need to refund.

I think most likely,  is that  you are  opted into eBay's GSP,  Global Shipping Company?  Their hub to receive items to post worldwide is in Lichfield.  Your postage does show you ship worldwide not solely within the UK.

The help page for Global Shipping Program gives a link to the opt in / opt out of GSP within your preferences if you want to alter it.

adding to the advice already given -

Looking at your listings shows that some are in eBay Global Shipping.

however you have a much more serious problem that needs immediate attention.

you are a business seller trading as a private seller in violation of eBay rules and the law.

eBay are passing on data to HMRC and if they investigate it wohn't be just for a year but they will go back years.

Buyer's Item is stuck in America

Ebay provided a tracking number for the item, it shows that it is indeed in America, but it's still at Los Angeles Airport. I have explained this to the buyer and showed him the tracking number, he knows it is there, but because UPS haven't picked it up, he is saying that it's up to me to sort it out. He has called me a jerk and threatened to neg me if I don't refund him.

Buyer's Item is stuck in America

A private seller is someone who sells unwanted items from around their house eg books, cd's, clothing etc.

Your account is currently incorrectly registered and should be registered as a business account as you are selling multiples of new items, including o ring seals of which you have sold 100's of them.

I am not a business seller at all, I'm just trying to make a little extra cash selling these rings.
