Business operations registered as private sellers - worth reporting?

In your own experience, does eBay take satisfactory action on these accounts that are clearly buying goods to resell as a profitable enterprise?

I'd report them more often if I knew eBay takes action consistent with their policy.

I bookmark those I report and the results are very inconsistent.

It's a tad disappointing.

I suppose you are right. As a small a seller or someone who sells things they could talk passionately for hours about, like a hobby seller/reseller. I would avoid eBay for everything i have spoken about. For someone with 40 items or less than say 200, and you might not expect to sell too much to start with, eBay probably isn't the right platform. I have never had anyone decide they changed their mind and didn't want the items i have sold on social media. But have had some lost in transit and some people have scammed me, but thats always a risk. If i am after gotten after because of some regulation i may of broken i will cross that bridge when i come to it. But almost every customer was happy with they received

People are consistently missing the important point, and that is that people who are selling as a business and who are not selling their own personal possessions are sidestepping the distance selling regulations. So yes, they are breaking the law.

That seems unlikely due to the fact that there are now no selling fees for private sellers. I expect they will get on it soon, they won't want to be losing money like that.

As mentioned previously, they were losing money before this, they ran 70/80% off for years and many accounts who were clearly businesses only listed those weekends, so eBay were losing 70/80%, now these accounts just list whenever so eBay are only losing 20/30%. I wish I had your optimism but when they didnt care about 70% of fees I dont see why they would about 30%.

Also if they did care they'd have a business on a private account option on the reporting and not copy and paste the same responses for over 2 years to us, all they have done is come out with 15 words basically saying its important and then silence.
