I am planning on boycotting ebay until recent changes are reversed. Especially the poorly named Simple Delivery. Do you agree?

"ebid/ gumtree... I've seen more life in carlton cemetery."
Don't know anything about gumtree, it has nothing to do with ebid.
See my post #6 above.
First thing to do is stop thinking of it as a tiny version of ebay -- it isn't.
Then stop looking in the wrong place to see what sells -- except in crowded categories P.1 placement means nothing much, my sales all come from RUS listings on the lower pages. One of its biggest draws for me is that something I listed years ago as RUS (say on P.6) is still as visible as the day it went live.
Get your key-words right and their search will find it and show it to buyers -- no Sell Similar or endless relists.
One of your competitors must have got themselves organised and does quite well there, they appear regularly on the Front Page "Recently Sold" items stripe. As they do sell and I'd guess have more listings to choose from they're probably more visible on google shopping than you are and I've found that counts if you can do it.
You can always add a 4th choice to your list of alternatives -- try putting your eggs in both baskets and give them both an equal opportunity to work for you.

Yes, that article echoed all the main issues/complaints about Simple Delivery. And the response from eBay was equally predictable:-
A spokesperson from eBay added: “We’re focused on creating a safe, easy and competitive selling environment to give our buyers and sellers the best possible eBay experience. In the UK, private selling is now free – launched alongside AI-powered listing support, Simple Delivery, Local, and eBay Balance – all designed to create a more simplified and streamlined experience for sellers."
The same old nonsense. No-one wanted AI 'listing support', or 'Simple Delivery', or 'eBay Balance'. These things have been foisted on us purely because it suits eBay - none of it has simplified or streamlined anything... quite the reverse. For many of us, it has ruined our 'eBay experience'!

I’m totally with you. EBay is greed only, foreign, doesn’t understand that post offices and Royal Mail are two different companies. Post offices have been told to refuse pre labelled eBay parcels as with their robot guessed prices they will all be underpaid. What a disgrace eBay is. It used to be like a car boot sale online and was superb, now it’s all about businesses from China and two fingers up to all private sellers. I’m going back to my local car boot sales as I will not be dictated to by foreigners and robots.

Just checked the Front Page, the current 12 Recent Sales include Pokemon cards, Stamps, Pokemon movie strip, Batmobile model car (boxed), Samsung phone, a Book, a postcard. I look at it regularly and what it shows changes throughout every hour every day.
Of particular interest to you might be one I regularly see, a seller of Hornby trains..🙂

JUST put your account into away for 30 days // if if everyone did this they might get some response from eBay, but it needs sellers to stand together, just put your account in to away

Great Idea, I've removed all my items anyway, but I agree.
If every private seller does this, surely a reaction will come.
If eBay don't change due to the uproar, more fool them.

Sellers are standing together by leaving eBay.
Don’t put account into “away” mode as who knows who has access to this information and can fit it together with your address?

Been selling on Ebay for 22 years. Put up with all the changes, most of them not that great but this is the last straw. Sold my last item yesterday & them removed my 300 items.
I bought a printer last year for convenience and was happy to buy my postage from Ebay but this has really killed it for me. A great shame and I can't seem them reversing the decision.
I think business sellers are going to see a real drop in sales very soon but will ebay listen?

Gonna see what they do to my listings after the 7th or after a sale, some say they change your postage AFTER a sale for somethings that’s been listed before their silly little change….that’s out of order totally 100 %
if they do that I m OUT and they can sling their stupid hook innit

I reduced my prices once when BPF was added when ebay hi-jacked my listings, now they are going to hi-jack them again with simple delivery and charge my buyer higher postage costs than I would have, so I will have to reduce my prices still further to make the overall total the buyer will pay still attractive.

Totally against this so called 'Simple Postage' , simple for who exactly?
Its just EBAY interfering with a system that was working very well.
I've been a member for years but I'm selling nothing else if they don't backtrack on this.
I prefer to pick my own service and pay at the post office as they are suffering enough and if people can't keep paying there it will cause yet more closures (just taking parcels in doesn't do anything towards their profitabilty ) and then what ?
