After 27 years selling on ebay, Im finally leaving.

I first joined eBay in 1998, buying a selling stuff from my home, and collating personal collections, selling off stuff that no longer fit. Most was just stuff I no longer wanted, but also some more expensive stuff such as watches.  I always really enjoyed ebay and thought their concierge service was great.  The past 6 months, it's all been downhill.

First, ebay told me I had to convert my account to a Business Account, which I refused. As such, they suspended my selling ability.  over 2 decades of feedback stalled.  Ive now cancelled that account

Their customer service just advised me to set up a new account.

Today, a French buyer refused to pay import duty on a £400 item, and successfully got their money back via PayPal.  Item was never returned to me. eBay "Packlink" is impossible to contact for follow-up to get the item back,  and useless if you happen to find a way.

Concierge service used to be reasonable, but there's no reason to side with private sellers anyone as they don't charge a fee.

Anyway, Im gone.  Overall a sadly declining business.
