I sell large heavy items of antique furniture. When I tried to select the advanced postal option today to allow me to send via PARCELFORCE or DPD , the advanced option had disappeared!!! My furniture is too large and too heavy to send via simple delivery so I have had to list my items as collection min person only. I use several layers of large celled bubble wrap and sturdy boxing to ensure safe transit of my antique furniture and the Royal Mail do not handle big items of furniture so simple delivery is no good to me at all and I shall lose sales now because I have no means of selecting Parcelforce 48 or DPD. PLEASE REINSTATE THE ADVANCED POSTAL OPTION so that we can select the correct weight , size and a suitable postal handler for our larger and often heavier items. I sent an elm bench the other week which cost £67 for Parcelforce to deliver co Simple delivery is not going to cover that !!! Please revise the change which has been made and not thought through. I shall lose income because of this ill thought out new policy.

Most antique furniture categories listings default to custom as oversized parcels
the benches and stools one doesn’t seem to
a workaround is to do sell one like this off a listing such as a very long window bench or something like that in the antiques category
You can then change the title and amend the dimensions to suit your item and it should retain custom postage
I don’t know how they expect a footstool to be sent in a medium parcel box even unpacked 🙄🙄
EBay need to explain how to use custom postage after their disappearing it for items that obviously need it

unless you're just selling off unwanted personal belongings you just happen to have around the house then you are running a business so you should register as a business seller as you are legally required to do and then you can avoid simple delivery

re edward-dreams
Typical EBay gaslighting response.
The question was 'how do i get advanced options turned back on' - not, 'how do i send my parcels now'.
Why do EBay - and their apologists, continue to refuse to take ownership of the complete and utter dog-turd that is simple delivery .....

You aren't talking to ebay staff here: gaslighting ones or otherwise. Edwardian is just an ebay user, the same as you. And certainly *not* an ebay apologist!
The actual answer to you question is, you can't get it turned back on.
Eddie dreams was just trying to offer a 'work-around'...
