6th August

So 6th August is when everything is supposed to switch to Simple Delivery, even existing listings. Not sure how that will work because I don't have dimensions or weights listed for any of my items. It will also be the day I take down my listings if it becomes mandatory and I can see myself buying very little in the future on ebay becuse the funds won't be there from sales. How to ruin a decent selling platform...

6th August

I just had a look to see what a lima marble egg is and I couldn't believe it - I haven't seen one of those for decades, it threw me back to the 1970s.  Stone cold and silky smooth.  Beautiful things.

I think you are right there Goodibags - once ebay has gone completely SD the postage prices will rise as revenue from sales plummet.

You currently have 5 'Order completed successfully – tracked and on time' eBay generated automatic feedbacks

Thanks.

Now rich beyond my wildest £2 dreams!

But wait. It was in a category allowing Custom Postage.

To check properly I need a sale of a £100 train.

Hmm I thought not ...... 🙂

Thank you Sunflower4me59 - very much appreciated.

No wonder I could not see it, it was hidden behind some black banner pop-up saying I could add photos.

Oh that pop-up banner is really annoying! We all know about adding photos to feedback - it's not a new feature anymore. That box has been sitting there getting in the way for ages & ages. Why don't they take it away?!

It's the black box over your item pic that says 'boost your listings' that I'm worried about.

One accidental click on that and Ebay may just empty your bank account!

Ooh you'll never guess, I just relisted 4 items, were on  custom postage, the big blue banner came up for SD. I scrolled down to where they said small parcel, I changed it to LL up to 1kg, (they all will fit in an envelope ), and it switched me back to custom postage. All 4 of them, not that I'm complaining, just  more confused.

There is neither rhyme nor reason with ebay and this fiasco.

They’re still working through it

I too saw the surprise when picking LL and it reverting to custom after it recommending snall parcel SD , when before the same item was excluded from custom whatever size

That's weird. It's like large letters can now be opted out of SD again? Maybe it's only certain categories and/or only low value ones?

I have a toy car which would be custom (doable but a bit of a squeeze) if I relisted as a large letter but goes back to SD if a small parcel.

Perhaps, after 6th August opted more items in to SD, now more can also come out again?

I said on another thread books were now exempt ie as books ,not as book marks or something small  mentioned on that long list of subcategory exempt items

but books are now exempt (LL and under £10 )

But hang  on you might say they’re under 100g but what if they’re not whose to know seeing as you can edit the postage price in custom

anyway

I also dummy listed something can’t remember what now as it was an experiment for someone and it came up with oversize parcel when before there was no chance before of large parcels coming up as an option

yawn

Perhaps SD has gone rogue and is starting to make its own decisions about what items can be exempt from it...?  Maybe tomorrow it will decide everything can be exempt...?! 🤖

Ties seem to be SD LL under 100g/£10, but fabric and knitting patterns are ok at the moment.

"Ties seem to be SD LL under 100g/£10, but fabric and knitting patterns are ok at the moment."

But ties are made of fabric and some have patterns on them. So could easily be switched across?

Maybe AI is doing the rationalising on behalf of Ebay? It makes no sense to have an item in SD and pretty much the same thing outside with custom.
