1kg Parcel Price Is Now 19p More Than It Was Last Week

Has anybody discovered a 1kg Parcel is now 19p more than it was about a week ago . I was paying £3.45 a few days ago this was £3.65 for the same Parcel.  How can this be when royal price has not gone up in the last few days . I thought there was going to be a 2kg small parcel size but when I scheduled a few items for tomorrow night a 1kg parcel is now £3.65 . Yet again ebay are ripping off buyers for postage costs .

they are separating small and medium parcels now (work in progress and still muddled it seems)

that 3.64 price is for 0-1kg medium parcel according to latest price chart

the new correct rates and system is not filtering through to listings …yet …but the wrong pricings are, for example small parcel up to 2kg is coming out on people’s listings as 5.15

🤷🏼‍♀️

They should have seconded a royal mail and an evri “expert “ shall we say,to check/oversee /test the system before going guns blazing with the launch,

and half of this wouldn’t have happened imho

now people have to trawl through their listings check on 1-2kg small parcel items at 5.15 and scratch their chin thinking what to do about it

When it goes wrong it's always in favour off Ebay , never the seller or buyer . Most companies would have taken it down by now and gone back to something which did work but not Ebay .

That’s the 64 million dollar question

why are they not amending listings with the hugely inflated small parcel 1-2kg price

they amended them easily enough to the wrong price

🤣

It’s not as if they’re unaware

Just looked at this. How does 1 kilo fit into a large letter?. Unless it's lead?

I have just sold item,  if you add the postage charge and Vat together it comes to £3.63 not sure where that figure comes from . Plus when I listed them they would have been £3.45 . There is no chance to put them right , another 19p Ebay have gained by just doing a update

One thing which has been bothering me greatly about this whole fiasco is eBay's continual use of phrases like "starting from 20th May" as shown in the above example in post no.2

How can you plan ahead with info as vague as that? We've been given similar assurances for two months now.

eBay should be issuing a timetable, giving precise information to individual members, letting them know exactly when they will be switched on to SD. Don't make it so ambitious that they know they haven't a hope of meeting the given dates.

Give it plenty time; don't try and convert too many people at once, and stick to what you say. Make sure you're ready.

I'd far rather know my private account was definitely having SD imposed on the 4th of June, than having it hanging over me like some sort of Sword of Damocles, set to drop "sometime after May 20th", even if it might be much later.

This should not be beyond eBay's capabilities, although, to be fair, I'm sure they would find some way to make a mess of it.

Logic and clarity doesn’t seem to come into it with the new  managed  shipping

and I don’t understand the actual reason and cause

something has seriously gone wrong here because no other changes they’ve made seem to have had a tenth of the problems and for so many if not all its users

I too am shocked at the incompetence / un professionalism and liaisez fair (spelling?) attitude to such basic and fundamental issues by a multi million or billion doll,ar household name company

🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🙄

I can’t help being scathing because of this

Good question but to be fair Royal Mail Tracked Large Letter does now go up to 1Kg, when bought online, so not something eBay has just made up for the once.

I read the yesterday's community chat. According to the team SD is being rolled out, so nobody is going to get a specific date, and this roll out is expected to be completed by the end on the month. Given what has gone on so far with SD completion by the end of May has to be taken with a large pinch of salt.

I didn't realise it was more expensive to refuse one of the two carriers... that's ridiculous

Mine have all changed to 5.15. But its wierd and inconsistent.

They are all old listings. When I set them up, they were 2.94 Delivery. I sold one other day, and customer paid 2.94 delivery, which is correct, but I had to pay 5.15 on my end! How can this be right???

If rates have gone up then thats fair enough, but this is such a scam way of going about it. Not even mentioning that obvs the delivery should have only gone up to 3 quid something, not almost double

...

It is unfathomable how incompetent they are.

I can’t think of any reason whatsoever for this apart as from it being a moneymaker for eBay

but I’m biased at the moment so maybe don’t see the logical reasoning behind it

Does anybody know if buyers still mark sellers postage costs at the end . If they do how can that be fair to any seller when ebay are now deciding what the postage price should .

Rm up to 2kg items will have 5.15 on them, newly listed items as well as old listings which eBay changed to this from the 3.44 that they were

having said that someone posted a thread yesterday about having only evri switched on and their listing was showing 5.15 postage (a particular price for RM not evri)

What a mess, I was starting to list a few things as Simple Delivery and today saw that the price had changed. I have now removed my listings from SD as it is as yet not giving me the option to select items as small parcel. Has anyone sold more than one item to the same buyer and does it combine the postage?

What makes me laugh is if you go to ebays announcements they say " We hope everyone is now seeing the benefits off SD . What a joke , they are the only ones who are seeing the benefits . Inflated postage prices , no way to combine postage properly which means more money in there pockets .

Allegedly eBay combine postage as long as it’s all in one transaction ie like putting loads of items from same seller in your basket

I have my doubts this is working in reality though in theory it’s part of SD (doubts because there’s a few things that eBay say are reality but aren’t lol)

i don’t  actually know so hope someone answers your question
