Promote listing fees charged

Hello all,

I have been charged a fee for promote listing ad but I never clicked on the button to use this service. I have  been told by customer services that they are unable to refund it  as I did use it.

This is not correct. Has anyone else been charged for services they did not use and how this was rectified.

I put in a complaint but I was told by customer services that I would not heat anything back unless they saw an issue but it would be used to improve their service!!! Currently they see no issue.

Promote listing fees charged

Unfortunately I sold a watch and couldn't cancel the order. Ironically I was hoping the buyer would cancel the order in which case I would get the fees refunded, but the sale went through.

Promote listing fees charged

I spoke with the buyer and explained what had happened and he was happy to cancel due to this error from eBay outrageous really the first rep I spoke to in Berlin was rude unhelpful etc but called back the following day and spoke to somebody sensible I would suggest contacting them open a case of some sort that is complete liberty equating to robbery first time it has happened that I had noticed maybe it had been added in previous smaller sales keeping my eyes open now!

If your listing was not 💯% not promoted then eBay owe you that money it would have been taken fraudulently and would be a criminal offence check your order invoice etc but do not just drop it I was so angry when it happened to be honest it just corporate greed...

Promote listing fees charged

The trouble is when I researched why I had been charged, there was an "Advertisement Campaign" running in my account, which I promptly closed down, but two if my expensive auctions had some how been selected to be "Promoted". I don't know how as I've never used an advertisement campaign or promoted listing in my whole time using eBay. eBay will say I must have selected it and it's my word against theirs unfortunately. I've just vowed that after I have sold a few more items, I will delete my eBay account.

Fully understood I do feel the whole of it has been slowly declining in favour of business (more money) accounts I am extremely familiar with promoted listings and how they work! my particular item is a popular one so definitely never needed such additional advertising the amount was not great but the principle of the matter is that just charging you money willy-nilly is completely unacceptable. That being said some of the eBay staff are helpful some are downright rude unknowledgeable should not even be employed...
