As you can see there are three openings on this fella,a small one at the back which you see on the first pics,one on top of the hat(on the jug this would
be open) and the base where it is signed,i have searched "shorter&son" but cant find any info on this piece
i would appreciate any thoughts on why the holes because i feel they are original but for what purpose?
