I am very confused by the new "Simple Delivery" system. I am trying to list some stoneware plates and want to list them as multiple available on the same listing so people can buy the entire lot or just buy 1 or 2 to replace missing/broken plates in their own set.
The problem is I can only select simple delivery and one parcel size. I can ship up to 3 plates using the 'small parcel 2kg' but after that it would need to be the 'Medium parcel 10kg'. I don't want to charge double the postage to someone that only wants to buy a single plate by selecting Medium Parcel but if I select Small Parcel and someone buys more than 3 plates it would automatically purchase the Small Parcel and I would have to purchase my own postage on top. (My understanding is the buyer would be refunded the postage cost after 14 days if I didn't use the auto purchased postage, so the buyer would effectively get free postage and I would be stuck paying an extra £6.65 each time)
Is there any way to list them correctly like you could in the old system? I would happily set the postage at £3.38 for a small parcel and top it up myself if they bought lots but I cant as the postage is automatically purchased. I don't want to offer free postage and add the postage to each plates price as that heavily increases the price for anyone buying multiple plates.

Theres not many ways round this now with all these new rules for private buyers. Personaly i would list them under small parcel 2KG and price them so you can offer free postage. That way if they buy more and you need a higher value postage label you can purchase that seperately and get the included small parcel label refunded. As you offer free postage the label is refunded back to you and not the buyer. You will need to apply for this refund manualy within 14 days of the sale. I know its not ideal but you have to work with what you can do now

This is the worst Ebay implementation for some time. There's no opt-out in the UK, I have gone through settings. I have a scheduled listing today for 11am. Needs to be sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery to fully cover insurance value. Other than by this method, Royal Mail only offers insurance up to £150.
The listing has randomly chosen a lesser service I won't be using. I have had to stipulate in the listing how it will be sent for buyer assurance. An item I have listed at the moment even recommended the wrong postage!
We shouldn't have to do this! Give us an opt-out option Ebay.

Rightly or wrongly I'd accept the recommended size/weight when listing, whatever that is, and sent the items with the label provided. e-Bay may up the cost to the Buyer when they buy several but if they do or not you are covered against the parcel being over-weight/size provided you used the recommended one.
There are plenty of complaints on here about Simple Delivery over-charging but it also under-charges sometimes. Presumably these average out for e-Bay, Royal Mail and Evri.

Simple Delivery - Two out of two listings incorrectly calculated is total failure in my book.

Select the packaged parcel size/weight for 1 item.
i.e. if you are listing plates individually for 1 plate (if you were listing e.g. salt and pepper pots for both)
ebay will "take care of" working out the price and label if someone buys more than 1 plate - in a single transaction. Even if it looks wrong to you it's valid.
The only exception is the whole packaged box size/weight/value must meet the Eligibility described here:
