Weird postage situation.

A while ago I listed separately two 12" singles. Both listed with tracked 48 Royal Mail P&P @ £3.75

Last night they sold to one buyer who I'm guessing bought them one at a time as they came through a couple of minutes apart. The  £15 one still at £3.75 but the other which was £9 is a prepaid label and claims the postage as £2.87. I cannot use this as the buyer would get charged for underpaid postage.

Why does this happen to one and not the other? Why does it happen at all?

Unfortunately, it's called Simple Delivery. Because the roll out is gradual one of your records appears to have been opted in while the other wasn't.

Ebay CS would probably advise you to send the 2 records separately. If you did combine them into one parcel and decided not to use the prepaid label the buyer will eventually be refunded for this (in about 30 days, I think).

Thanks for the reply. When they were listed, one after the other, there was no simple delivery available and as stated both were listed just as tracked 48. So how has one changed but not the other? Not that I want them changing anyway.

If you don't change the listings to Simple(tons) Delivery, then eBay will be changing all of them for you anyway. Nobody seems to know what order they are doing this in, as it seems to be quite random at the moment.

I genuinely haven't a clue. Ebay works in mysterious ways. Most sellers are anxiously checking their listings regularly just in case they're suddenly changed. It seems to generate 'traffic'?
