Purchased 3 items on my private account last week, all small or medium parcels.
Tracking no’s received and they all direct to Evri.
All 3 give me the ‘We’re expecting your parcel’ update.
Yet 2 have been delivered - by Parcelforce.
I’ve left feedback for sellers, in the hope they’ll get their funds released.
I don’t get it. Neither buyer or seller can track the delivery, buyer doesn’t know how it’s going to be delivered.
Am I missing something here? Who does this help other than eBay?

It's all a mess isn't it ! 🙄
Tracking is nearly always out of sync with eBay, but it's the courier's tracking which matters. All the seller can do is to check the courier's online tracking to see the progress of the item, once showing tracked to inform CS and they should release the payout sooner. If it ended up with Parcelforce then it's their website to check.
If not, it's a minimum of 14 days wait for the payout to be released.

But I only have Evri tracking numbers, absolutely no idea Parcelforce were delivering.
Sounding like a complete eBay newbie here, but if the seller sent using Parcelforce then why does eBay give an Evri tracking no.
I dunno, I really do have sympathy for private sellers navigating this mess.

Yep, confusing, all the seller can do is to call CS early, to get Dublin to answer, explain all what has happened that tracking albeit with another company , has shown delivery, buyer happy, feedback left, and see if they'll release that payout sooner.

You mentioned 'Standard Tracked Delivery', where these Simple Delivery items?
If so, it could be that eBay have issued an Evri label, with the tracking number filled automatically, but the seller has decided to use Parcelforce, but not bothered to send you the new tracking number/couldn't change it on eBay.
I haven't yet found a way to add/change a tracking number with SD - I have seen instructions on the boards, but they don't work for me (and yes, I do use a PC!)

Ah, OK. Hadn’t thought of that scenario, makes sense so seller then just has to wait for their refund on Simple Delivery postage and does that then delay their payment even more?
What a pile of poopiness.

Seller shouldn't wait for their refund - that can take 14-30 days!
If you, the buyer, paid for postage, you will be the one that gets the refund. I had a buyer buy 2 items that could have been sent together under one label. So I used the one label, told them they may/should get a refund for the other postage label, but it may take a while. It took 30 days exactly, which is ridiculous 😞

For the answers, I think you are best asking the seller(s) - particularly of the undelivered one; or just waiting for the estimated delivery date to pass.

Do buyers have to claim a refund like sellers do or is it automatic for them

Thanks xyz
whats the reason I wonder shy sellers don’t get refunded automatically then for unused labels

A bloke down the pub reckoned it was possibly to do with ebay stating SD is mandatory (for the things it can be used for), and so, if ebay wanted to, they could review any refund requests where sellers just avoided SD because they didn't want to use it, allegedly.
But it could be for other reasons.

Sounds about right I guess
I missed todays community chat (looks like I didn’t miss much either was only a page long ) might ask them next week about it
end of the day though for example some people might do this because eBay is not functioning ie they don’t allow large parcels to be sent by disallowing custom postage for them
you have to use a workaround to get a basic function which is pathetic imho
sorry for the language ebay does get our moods going blood pressure level at times
