Simple Delivery automatically applied – unable to add external tracking

Hi, I’m a private UK seller and Simple Delivery is being automatically applied to my eligible listings. I use supplier fulfilment and need to use external tracking, but Simple Delivery does not allow manual tracking upload or manual dispatch confirmation. I already have an order in transit with valid supplier tracking, but I’m unsure how eBay handles this when external tracking cannot be manually added. How do sellers handle this situation? Also, how can I prevent Simple Delivery from automatically applying to future listings so I can use my own courier tracking? Thank you.

Your account isn't 'being treated as a business seller', you are a business seller using a private seller account.

Sorry but you are not a Private Seller.  A Private Seller account is only for those selling unwanted personal possessions.  If you are buying items to sell, as you clearly are, then you need to change your account to that of a Business Seller and then you wouldn't need to use Simple Delivery.

Your account setup is incorrect.

 

Your account isn’t being treated as a business seller, because you are a private seller account. Hence the reason you are seeing issues with your postage. Because simple delivery is required.

 

Follow these instructions

 

Changing from a personal account to a business account

If you've already registered with a personal account but would like to upgrade to a business account, here's how:

  1. Go to My eBay and select Account, then Personal information.
  2. Select Edit next to Account type. You may be asked to sign in again.
  3. On the Change Account Type page, select Business Account and then Confirm
  4. On the following page, enter your business information such as name, contact information, VAT number and returns policy, then select Save.

Please be aware that once you've upgraded your personal account to a business account, it won't be possible to revert back to a personal account.

 

and the good news is you do keep all your feedback and info that you already have on your current account.
