Simple Delivery/ High value item signature threshold

Sold a camera lens for over 450, which it seems is the threshold for requiring a signature as proof of delivery. But Simple Delivery covers the transaction up to 750. How do I square this circle , since Simple delivery doesn't offer a signature option? Do I lose any protection by using RMSD? And what's the point of Simple covering up to 750, but requiring a signature as proof of delivery when it doesn't have the facility to add it on?

Have I missed something- can I add a request for signature as a stand alone item at the post office?

Thanks.

Simple Delivery/ High value item signature threshold

In short - for items lost or damaged in transit on a Simple Delivery label - you are covered by EBAY up to £750, regardless of the service of the label ebay provide.

You don't need to add anything on as the coverage isn't supply by the courier - its ebay.

Note this only applies on the basis the buyer opens a case for item not received or for item arrived damaged.

Signature confirmation is not required for items sent with Simple Delivery:

'Signature confirmation is not required when posting items using Simple Delivery. However, the full value of the item is covered against loss or damage in transit, so you're fully protected if your buyer reports an item not received.'

Thanks, so in what circumstances would eBay reject a claim on the basis there’s no signature?

For simple delivery? There isn't one because Simple Delivery labels aren't signed for.

Provided the buyer opens a claim for item not received or item damaged in transit - ebay will cover you for items up to £750, provided you use the Simple Delivery label they supply.

If the item was sent using Custom Postage (any method other than Simple Delivery or via the GSP) and the order value, including postage and tax, was equal to or greater than £450.
