Royal Mail / Post Office shipping to Guernsey (not through Ebay)

Hello

Have a concern shipping to Guernsey,

My local post office branch want to charge me £3.38 for Royal Mail 48 Small Parcel tracked delivery to Guernsey over 50p cheaper than getting posted to my next village.

RM wont let me choose Guernsey as a delivery option when I buy online, states not part of the UK

Concerned if I ship it will not arrive or be delayed as extra charges due.

Anyone who buys

a. From the Post Office

b. From the Royal Mail

Have any recent experience?

Thanks FBF

Although I haven't done it recently, I have sent to Guernsey with Royal Mail. It was the same price as sending to the UK. I purchased this over-the-counter at the Post Office.

According to today's RM website, the Channel Islands are not part of the UK but have the same postage price as the UK. This postage cannot be stamps.

How to send to Channel Islands and Isle of Man

Royal Mail Tracked 48 is available for items sent to the Channel islands but items sent to the Channel islands are not subject to VAT which is why you are being charged £3.38 instead of the usual over the counter price of £4.05.  If the item was sent Standard Tariff then the price would be the same as for the rest of the UK as Standard Tariff items are exempt from VAT.
