Posting item under £10

EBay says items under £10 do not need to be sent by their postage ie simple delivery but you can use Royal Mail etc direct.   But how ???

@stuart-marshall Does the item also weigh 100g or less?

Although not involved with the original question can I ask the following:

The items I would send will mostly be under 100gr and under £10. Occasionally they would be up to 250gr but still under £10.  Any clues?

For items under £10 and under 100g, that can be sent in an envelope, you will be able to use custom postage options instead of Simple Delivery.  Doesn't appear to have been implemented properly yet though.

It has to meet both criteria so a 250g item will have to be sent using Simple Delivery even if it's under £10.

Yes looks that way and will be £2.74 but may all change as still no small parcel option ?
