Postage Labels

I have had several instances recently where I receive an error message when purchasing a postage label saying “the address is not covered by this service”.  I’ve sent many items using eBay postage labels and have never had a problem before.  Is anyone else experiencing this too?

if you’re on simple delivery

It’s probably because evri don’t operate in Jersey?

if you disable them and leave Royal Mail it should be fine

Hi dellanglois, thanks for your post.

Do you have the item number to see if this is related to the carrier, service, item, or a technical issue? Or was this resolved for you?

Thank you,

Marco

Hi Marco

Thanks for your message. Item nos 177025854456 and 177025842774
I was told this was a known issue for Jersey sellers but no date for
resolution.
I believe there maybe confusion between Jersey, Channel Islands (British)
and New Jersey in the USA.

Thanks for your reply, dellanglois.

I can see what you mean there, and it looks like you have Royal Mail only set up for your labels. Royal Mail should work there, so I will escalate this from my end to see what exactly is happening. I won't be able to confirm if this is technical issue right now or when this will be resolved, but I will try to get an update for you as soon as possible.

Thank you,

Marco

Hi dellanglois

I've just got an update on this, and I've been confirmed this is not working due to a mismatch on the buyer's address. It looks like there is an error with the buyer's postcode, which is why you are getting an error when you try to get the label from the system. Since both items/orders are from the same buyer, and they placed the orders with the same errors in their address, you will keep getting this error and only the buyer can correct it from their end.

I've been also been confirmed that you can use Royal Mail in your area no problem, and to please let us know if you get the same error with a different buyer.

Hope this helps,

Marco

Hi Marco

Thank you so much for coming back to me on this. I have this issue with
two other buyers. One previous to this one - item no 176978508491 - I
purchased a label from the local Post Office for that one in the end. One
who purchased something from me on Tuesday - item no 177014351671.

All have the same message.

That's perfect, dellanglois.

I'll get the team to review those items as well to see if they can spot anything wrong with it.

Again, once I have further updates, I will let you know here.

Thank you,

Marco

Hi Marco

I’ve received the following message from the buyer of the two items where
you said the postcode was incorrect.

Hi,thank you for your message. I have checked and the postal code is
correct. The address I used for my previous orders was also with this
postal code, and deliveries were always successful. Could you please try to
further investigate what the issue might be?

Hi dellanglois, thanks for your reply.

I can confirm that there was an issue with their shipping address, as I was able to see the issue in question myself. Due to privacy and security reasons, I cannot provide more information on other users accounts, but I can guarantee you that we were able to see the issue.

I still haven't had any updates on the other 2 examples you provided, but that will definitely give us more information anyway, so as soon as I get more information on it, I will post back here to let you know.

Thank you,

Marco

Thanks Marco

Not sure if you’ve seen my other message.
Your system definitely thinks Jersey is in the USA. I changed my location
to Jersey from UK and everything changed from GBP to US$.

Hi dellanglois, thanks for your patience on this.

It looks like a fault was found on the other examples you provided, so this has been escalated to the technical team, so it can be fully resolved. Once this is resolved, I will post back here to let you know. 👍

Thank you,

Marco
