Missed RM collection - do I have to pay 30p if I rebook?

When Royal mail fail to turn up for a collection of a tracked parcel, (which happens a fair bit), and I have to re-book it through their website, I presume I will have to pay 30p per item?

If so I suppose cancelling and buying new labels would be a better option.

In case it helps others to learn what you probably already know, these Collections of 'extra items' as Royal Mail puts it will be collected by Postie as a 'best endeavour' service. If they are unable to collect, you can rebook but have to pay 30p again!

Yes thats true but if there extra items and there not using a tracked service you wont get a certificate of posting by email, even if extra items are on a tracked service they wont start being tracked until they get to a service hub so if you enter the tracking number on ebay just after they have been collected you risk getting a numpty leaving you feedback saying its a fake tracking number, it best to pay the 30p per item if you dont want agro.
