How do I sell items without having to pay for the postage label?

I've listed a few items for sale and opted to use eBay's postage system, and it's usually great - buyer pays postage, I generate a QR code and use this to create an address label at the Post Office counter (or Parcelshop place) But recently even thought the buyer paid eBay's postage fee (small letter, 87p) I still had to pay to generate the address label. Why is this? And I notice in the 'my eBay' listing of my auctions, some say 'buyer pays' and other say 'you pay.' I find I have to manually revise listings after I submit them, cos my choices aren't always recognised

87p is custom postage not simple delivery.

Buyer's payment to you includes the postage which you then buy from the post office.

Re: How do I sell items without having to pay for the postage label?

Thanks. I'm still working this out. I've found that listings where I opted for Simple Delivery, when I post them and they go live, become Custom Postage, and I have to then revise them. Very frustrating, it didn't use to do this...

Re: How do I sell items without having to pay for the postage label?

All your items currently listed are Simple Delivery. Just to double-check here is how to list items under £20 with Custom Postage (if the item category allows). Enter the correct price. Select 'Large Letter' as your Simple Delivery option. This will activate the Custom Postage tile. Click on CP, now you can enter any size/weight/courier that you like. Good luck!

Re: How do I sell items without having to pay for the postage label?

I have the same problem and I don't know how to do the manual adjustment. can you tell me? I asked the buyers for their addresses on the eBay email as only way to get their addresses then sent them through royal mail as channel. then eBay say items not sent even though they have been received and I have positive feedback! now been showing as overdue for 10 days. Reckon I may need to buy a label after the event just to avoid eBay taking my money away after 30 days even though buyers have their items and are happy. nonsense system!

Re: How do I sell items without having to pay for the postage label?

you have a mix of simple delivery and custom delivery postage on your listings, but all are buyer pays.

if it’s simple delivery you would need to download the label. The customer has paid for it anyway. Unsure why you can’t use the simple delivery label provided but if you don’t, you pay for postage out of your own pocket and customer gets a refund for the unused label in 30 days. You can’t upload a new tracking number and You won’t get paid for 30 days either, even if the new tracking shows it’s delivered.

for those that are custom postage, should still be as before. You get paid the postage you listed with and you can upload tracking.

Have you tried using a simple delivery label?
