I'm a private seller. I don't really sell on eBay much, but am looking to move some redundant items in the house on. For example, I have a chess board with brass chess pieces. It's not at all heavy, but the chess board is about 47cm x 47cm without packing.
Does it mean that I can't post it to someone, due to it's size?
It appears I can only use the Simple Delivery option, which doesn't offer a parcel box larger than 46 x 46cm. It seems very restricting to me.
Any thoughts?
Many thanks.

i always ship out in oversize boxes rm evri or any courier for that matter is only concerned with the weight
can you see them measuring every box that passes thru their hands
as long as the box is not stupidly large of course
think thats checkmate !!!

Pending a reply from someone more knowledgeable and experiencd than me:
Quick googling:
Parcelforce: 150cm x (varies), £10–£15+
Hermes/Evri: 120cm x 60cm x 60cm, £7–£15 but varies by weight/speed
DPD/UPS: 100+ cm (varies by service), £8–£20 varies by weight/speed
If your chess board exceeds the value of the basic insurance level that a courier offers, it'd be a good idea to pay the extra for an increased insurance level (check their terms of course) for peace of mind especially if it's fragile. You're protected by consumer rights even without extra insurance but maybe consider if there'd be hassle involved e.g. is a courier known for good customer helpline.
If postage costs are scaring you or you'd think they'd put off buyers, perhaps consider offering it as 'collection only' even though it'd limit the number of buyers?

Regarding message 2, it's not that Simple if you can ONLY use Simple Delivery.
Does the item fit Evri as described here:

The post by xyz307xyz seems to me to be the most helpful so far.
I hope you get it sorted.
I can see why the medieval Lewis chess pieces were found without a chess board - too much hassle trying to get it delivered 🙂
