Has eBay glitched recently when it's showing estimated delivery dates to buyers?

I've just had a case opened against me for an item not received. The buyer bought it in the afternoon of 28th May, which was after my cut off time of 11:00am for same day dispatch, yet the estimated delivery date displayed to the buyer was 30th May - 1st June.

According to the help pages eBay allow for weekends and sellers published dispatch time, and as Royal Mail no longer deliver on a Saturday it is physically impossible for the buyer to have received it on 30th May (which was a Saturday).

Given it was sent 2nd class, the first day it could have been received is the 2nd June, so why display a date to a buyer that raises their expectation and is automatically going to result it their disappointment.

I thought the overriding principle of customer service was under-promise and over-deliver.  This seems to be setting sellers up for failure.

Cut off time does not matter anymore, just working days and non working days you select. This is due to the algorithm overriding your settings, this is done by your past performance.

Not exactly sure how, but I have now started only marking dispatched at the end of the day instead of when its done and packed. When I get an order for Saturday, I still post Saturday morning but dont make it dispatched until Monday evening (Saturday is not a work day for me now).

I recently had the same issue, 2nd class taking 1-2 days to deliver. It has been resolved after I got the Mods here to escalate to the tech teams which they "found no issues" apparently, but is resolved and now says 3 days.

Regarding Saturday, I think ebay still needs to modify their system to acommendate that, dont think it takes it into consideration and will be hard to program due tot he rotating weeks A and B (Stupid idea on Ofcoms part).  I wasnt aware its now in force, thought it was later this year however seems its here now in limited areas and a full rolled out by Decemeber 2026.

After all that, I hope there is something in there that helps.
