Delivery - waste of time and fuel.

Hi all can someone tell me the logic in this.

Sold an item to so go St Leonard on Sea

This is it's journey

Sutton surrey  to Coventry 122 miles

Coventry to Tonbridge 143 miles

Tonbridge to St Leonard on Sea 31 miles

A total of 296 miles.

Miles from sutton surrey to St Leonard on sea 64 miles.

Mileage is done from A to B on google

Can someone as I said explain the logiis as it is beyond me

The mileage looks right, Sutton to St Leonards is a lot less than Sutton to St Leonards via Coventry and Tonbridge. Logically, it would make sense to avoid going to those places.

It could be worse. Imagine if the item was being delivered to Newcastle or Penzance?

Does not bear thinking about

This is why an extra day for delivery is getting added to a 48hr tracked service.

Used to go to gatwick at least that would only have been about 80 miles

Could be worse. With Yodel an item can be 'out for delivery' and still not arrive until 5 days later. That's a long trip!

Fortunately  do not use yodel and stay well clear of evri. Evri are the worst delivery  company I have ever come across

Only use royal mail 48 tracked and was really  good until Coventry got brought into the equation.

But hey ho

Sometimes Royal Mail items are misrouted which causes these type of issues.

A while ago I sent a tracked 48 item from Birmingham to London. It went via Glasgow, it was obviously put in the wrong bag and sent to the wrong Mail Centre.

I don't use Yodel either but as a delivery recipient have been asked to wait at home. For 120 hours.

I have quite  often had items being  delivered  by yodel and have had an email saying it will be  today and still waiting two or three days later.

The only ones I have never had issues with is royal mail. Even sent one by parcel force 48hr and it was delivered 24 hours later so the buyer got a bonus there.

My only complaint with royal mail is their "so called " safe places some of which leaves a lot to be desired!.

Me i stick with who I know  unless for some reason ebay not so simple delivery decides to change it after the buyer has purchased
