Hi can someone please clarify something for me. I have had an item sent to my local Argos store for collection. The seller provided royal mail tracking that says it was delivered 2 days ago. I waited for the FM Code as ive had items delivered many times. None came. Went into my local Argos and they said we can't do anything without FM Code. They are saying they don't generate the code and wouldn't do anything. I called Ebay customer services and they said the reason there is no code is because they need to scan it in the system when they receive it, then the code is generated and I get the email with it on. Who is right please? Anyone know before I go back again to Argos? Thank you in advance.

Search through email, even Spam,  eB ay messages and your order details,  just in case it has popped up there now.

Otherwise, others who have been in this position, have received that code when contacting eBay Customer Services,  so worth trying them again as you can get different answers from different agents.

This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

Lines open 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. on weekdays

9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekends.

Automated agents will be available on chat outside of the above hours.

I recommend contacting CS first thing in the morning as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

Hi @joanned3228 ,

Thank you for your post.

Just adding to the advice that you would normally receive the email with the code once the Argos  have accepted the package into their store. They may have not scanned the package that would normally auto generate the email. Please do reach out to customer support again as they do have access to the code on their side.

Thank you,

Kat

Ask the seller if there is an ECP code in the address on the orders page, and if so - to give you that code*; and did they write/print it on the packet? Ask them also to send a photo of the packet, if they took one - which would help Argos finding it and believing it's yours.

The ECP stuff predates Simple Delivery, and I've not had one since January, so the process could have changed. It's also possibly nothing to do with the ECP or not an ECP click and collect.

(*) You would then ask Argos to find the packet and register it is as received with the ECP code.
