Hi All.
I sold a Nintendo Switch yesterday and the buyer asked me to send the item today which I did so. They paid for Evri delivery, so I printed the label and dropped it off this morning. The buyer messaged me angrily to say they want it posted by Royal Mail as they need it tomorrow as they are going on holiday. I did explain they need to choose Royal Mail at the Checkout but they dont seem to believe me.
I presume if they dont get it in time they will want to return it. Where do I stand with this?

If you sent it via the delivery method they selected, then you've done nothing wrong.
You are also a private seller so you don't have to accept returns. However, they could claim the item is not as described to force a return through. If thats the case, all you can then do is accept the return and deal with it.

Thanks for your help. Lets see what happens as I cant see EVRI getting there by tomorrow.

If it's the item I think it is, it has two Simple Delivery options.
The buyer doesn't (easily) know which courier is going to be used.
But basically they choose and pay for the service they want and you print the label given by ebay and send it.
Standard Tracked Delivery
Estimated between Fri, 13 Jun and Wed, 18 Jun to
Postage: £4.26
Express Tracked Delivery
Estimated between Fri, 13 Jun and Tue, 17 Jun to
Postage: £5.70

Ok thanks. It looks like they must have just chosen the cheapest option then. Which obviously they shouldn’t have done if they wanted the item ASAP.

Probably. In any further discussion with the buyer you could try and keep it vague saying something like - With ebay simple delivery, ebay chooses the service and carrier and supplies the postage label to the seller accordingly. I cannot then choose or change the service used.
