that is what you are looking for. If it says Standard Tracked - that’s Simple Delivery.

eBay promotes it heavily last year, did send out emails and made clear that listings where simple delivery would apply could be changed. I’d suggest going through your listings to check which are on simple delivery.

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

So the public who do not use ebay often know that do they?

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

You could argue that about lots of things.

My child’s school stopped offering donated uniforms. They didn’t tell anyone.

at least eBay sent emails and posted notifications on the site.

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

Hello, just ckecked out what you have said and could not find the options you mention, could you be a little more specific with the wording, also, are you saying that over £20.00 value items will not  automatically generate SD?

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

First of all I canot find the advanced options box you mention and am using a laptop, I always choose economy delivery when I can and nearly all off my listings are free postage anyway but cannot avoid SD when item is £20.00 o more, are you proposing that regardless of cost of the item that SD is avoidable?

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

There is a way round that overpriced postage as SD cannot add up properly, so what you need to do is this:

You cancel your multiple orders from the one buyer (I take it this is what you are reffering to when you cite the £18.00 postage cost) and then relist the multiple items as one single listing, make it a sort of skeleton listing, (minimum details) then put the buying cost up to a say £200.00 in order to avoid unwanted interest from other potential buyers and when the buyer ho won these messages you that they are watching the item you then send them an offer for the correct price, which it was initially only this time with the correct postage cost!

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

As a private seller you can not avoid SD unless you list in one of the small minority of categories that allows you to choose royal mail letter or large letter. These categories are very limited and I believe are limited to items under £10 or £20. Not sure of the exact amount and these are rather hit n miss as to whether you get it..
The options are as I see it if you realy want to avoid it are 1/ choose SD initially then when the item sells you can get that label refunded and use your own courier option or 2/ use buyer pays delivery. This option won't cost you anything but may be slightly higher cost to buyer or 3/ change to a business account. They don't have to use SD .

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

Hi I think eBay are shutting down most options, even I am having to use simple postage on items valued at less than £20, it depends on the category. So where I cannot change simple postage to custom, I make sure the postage is paid by me, and then I do not use eBay label, just my own stamps, and then claim the simply label, which they do charge you for. Trouble is I have still to get a refund, it may work or it may not

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

Refunds take about 14 days, sometimes you have to message them to remind them and they will blame the system for the delay

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

you right about Evri, I once had an order of 96 rare cd's not delivered, I was not home at the time and they took it back to their depot, even though on their website they claim that they will attempt delivery 3 times.

I acyually visited their depot in Enffiel, London, twice to try and get the items rerouted, no chance, they were sent back to their next depot in Rugby and finally back to Musicmagpie in stockport.

Found out from the supervisor at Enfield that all evri's couriers are now self employed, so it does not really interest them to attempt a second delivery, never mind three as they are not earning any extra spondoulis!

Surely illegal as they are contravening their own company policy, raised this issue with Ebay but as usual they don't want to know, onther thing one of their pathetic Leadershop Team agents once told me was that they are in partnership with their couriers, well we all know what partners do right - they split the profits!

Finally, to add isnsult to injury Musicmagpie blocked me from buying from them as they felt there was fraudulent activity in regards to the missing 96 cd's, despite documented evidence and the fact that all the cd's were returned to their own warehouse, I know this because all the cd's were re-listed by them!

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

Another way of doing it is to go to oversized item above 20kg and you can select your own courier and set your own cost there

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

This may work for low cost items but I wanted to sell some arrows for £35 nothing wrong with the postage rate for 1kg but the length is limited to 61cm most arrows are 70 to 80cm.

I can alter to custom postage if I drop the starting bid to £5 as soon as I move it back to £35 it removes the Evri 120cm long option back to simple delivery.

why this is not a option in the drop down menu is beyond me has it was always there prior. So that another item I must sell some were else.

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

Try creating your own postage policy for that sized item first. When listing the item you put the package dimensions so it allows custom for being over-sized. Select your pre-saved postage policy. The custom postage should hold.

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

Yes I have been getting my refunds, (but you do have to put in a claim which is a bore) within 14 days up until now, but all of a sudden I have about 10 that have not been refunded, I have made formal complaints and I have spoken to a handful of agents now, who tell me unless i have a valid reason they do not refund postage.  I have a valid reason i have my own supply of stamps, and in any case it has always worked in the past, ive given them their terms and conditions which categorically states they refund you, if you have not used the simply label.  So Ebay staff, are not properly trained, and once, one of them says no they all say no.  I have now sent a special delivery letter (which of course costs £9.95) threatening them with the small claims court.  Even though this, in the scheme of things is a small amount of money to take to court, 1) it is the principal and 2) I will win, and they will have to pay my costs and interest on money owed.  Well that is the plan anyway.

Oh and by the way, since the 10 missing refunds (whereby they sit on your money earning themselves interest) I have started receiving refunds on the latest orders.

Ebay are a law unto themselves.  We should not have to fight difficult agents, who have no authority and no interest in checking facts, and sorting out the problems, instead telling you - we understand and will help you with your refund, and then go on to say why they will not refund you, and hope you have a nice day.  All generic wording, they do not think for themselves.
