Hi everyone, first-time poster, so go easy 🙂 I'm a fairly new seller, launched in October although those 6 months have flown by.

My issue is that today is the 3rd time in 6 months I've received the message "Your payouts are temporarily on hold while we review some details." I understand eBay have to check things out but does this really happen so frequently? Every month I'm growing my business and this time the hold is really affecting me as not only is it the end of the month for pay-day I also have my VAT return due on Friday.  My own website only brings in a couple of sales at the moment whilst I work on Google etc and I only launched Amazon last week so eBay is my only source of income. To withhold a large amount of money for 5 days stopping myself being paid and potentially receiving a fine for a VAT return really is not a good sign of business from eBay.

Can anyone shed any light on why this happens all the time?

Hi etekbuyer, thanks for your post.

I was checking for you there, and it looks like your payouts have resumed as we've sent you one this morning. However, just for reassurance purposes, these are things that could happen every now and then, but it wouldn't be a case of it happening all the time. All sellers have to go through it at some stage, but it is all to make sure that everything is working ok and safely, so nothing to worry about. 👍

Hi Marco,

I appreciate the response and yes the hold was lifted this morning. I totally understand eBay have to check things but being the last day of the month/quarter is not ideal and perhaps some thought needs to go into the timings of these checks.

Anyway all sorted now and thanks again.
