I have seen that in a few weeks the funds from sales will sit in eBay account until they get used.
does anyone have more information on this.
I am just trying to understand how this will work and whether the money will still be able to go to my bank account.
Very much intrigued by this update.

It seems it is just as quick as it was before the change:

I made a withdrawal yesterday morning back to the Bank.......it was actually in the bank within just over 4 hours. Basically from payment by buyers to back in the Bank was way less than 24 hours.
All the anger about this new system seems pretty unfounded.

Good morning 1956 🙂
Thanks for the latest info on eBay's new payment system.
Much appreciated !
As soon as the bad weather eases off I will resume selling again here on eBay...

Surely if the weathers bad then more people may be inclined to stay home and look on Ebay?
Also do people not do more renovations/projects if its not particularly nice out? You may be missing out on sales.
If we have bad weather and have items to post then we just use the car and not walk to the PO 🙂
Its not particularly great here today but we will be driving 20 mins later for a family meal out 🙂

Maybe, maybe not.
Why was the process create then?
Do poor private sellers prefer to keep funds in ebays hands for months?
As for allowing the sellers some access to their funds to buy postage from ebay, is that even legal? Monopolies or something like.
The regular Payout system was almost regularly working - obviously not as fast as the Instant payouts we still enjoy from Paypal on other platforms, and here even in better days.

I think this process was created to try and get members to spend the funds on the site. Before i withdrew Ebay were really pushing me to spend the funds on the site.
Took me ages to find the withdrawal tab initially 😞
I do not sell on any other sites.
IF i do buy anything it will be paid via a card/Paypal to maintain extra protection.

There will be other days... all these people did was just watch my stuff for weeks and weeks everytime I listed, even when I dropped my prices - nothing !!.... So now that the bad weather's set in, well I'm not going to put myself out having to go out in heavy rain and post stuff just because someone's waited deliberately for bad weather before they decided to buy... 🤔😞
Yes, I could take the car, but the problem is the nearest post office to me is in town and the car park is always very busy... and the post office is the other side of the shopping centre (inside the back of WH Smith) as they have now closed all the post offices near me and on the high street. 😞
The only other options are to book Royal Mail online to call and collect (not always reliable) or to use EVRi !!!!!!!!! (use at your own risk !!!!!!!!)
So I've decided to just take everything down and wait for the dry and colder weather where I don't have to walk the length of a football pitch in very heavy rain just to reach the post office from the car park 😞

That could make sense thanks.
ebays efforts at ruining the search function, disallowing combined purchases, 'encouraging' rapid payments for items, showering accounts with nonsensical 'Offers' , and bombarding possible buyers with 'sponsored' ads, of no interest.
Those were enough to kill off my buying activities on ebay.

As experienced as i am on the site......i often sit here and think "whats all this about then"
If i were a brand new seller/member i think i would honestly take one look at the site and think.....nope way too complicated

Fair points 🙂
I may well not bother with the site now till after Christmas..........nowt to do with the weather its just that i CBA 😂

Normally I would do it but this week I've got massive back pain after doing some digging and planting of some conifer trees for my mum (10 of them !!!)
That's why I've also stopped selling on eBay because I'm just not up to going out now with this awful lower back pain 😞
Now waiting for it (and the weather too) to improve/get better... before I resume selling online again on eBay 😎

Good luck with maintaining those trees when they take off 😞
We had a 5ft hedge all around our front garden......that was soon all dug out
The previous owner had even cut a square out the front hedge to see who was pulling up outside 😂

Thanks, Yes It was for a hedge.
At the moment they are like 6ft wispy Christmas trees lol... but I know what you mean !... as I did plant a whole corner hedge in our front garden back in October 2002 and it's now 14ft tall by 8ft thick ! and very expensive to trim twice a year (£750 !!! each time the gardener comes out) 😞
I'm not going to let these ones I've just planted get that big so will be trimming them monthly with an electric hedge trimmer lol 😁

Hi can you help me as I can't seem to be able to withdrawl my funds. I have funds but when I click on my bank it takes me to sign in which i'm already signed in then it just goes back to my balance again and again. Is there anything I'm doing wrong that i don't realise. Thanks so much in advance.

Are you clicking on the arrow / Chevron ?
The " Withdraw " screen should pop up.
24-10-2024 10:39 AM
Could it be that he/she has a popup blocker extention in their browser ?
Hence, this is blocking the eBay popup with their eBay balance options ?
If so they could try desabling it and then reloading the eBay account page again to see if it loads up ??

I haven't sold on ebay for years now, why bother when there so many platforms that are free, more than ever in fact, plus there even more boot sales than ever, it used to be good I started in 2004 and was glad to clear out years of stuff I owned, but no, selling on this platform is not for me and many friends say the same and subsequently I visit less and buy less than in the past, E-bays glory days are over.
