Stupid new eBay payment rules

Why the heck has eBay changed the payment rules yet again? Are they trying to mimic another selling site with the same unfair policies?

After reading some comments on this subject, one reply to a member, who stated that they couldn't afford to fork out postage costs and wait until their parcel had been delivered before receiving payment (which I totally agree with), was "if that strapped for cash then really shouldn't be selling on eBay". What nonsense!  In that case one wold just take items to a charity shop or bin them! The whole point of selling on eBay, I thought, was to make a bit of money, if financially well off then why bother?

I was about to start listing items for sale again, I'm trying to clear out my life of possessions because Yes, I do need the money and also because I'd like to make life a little easier for my family to cope with when I pop my clogs!  I also donated a percentage of sales to charities that I think are very worthwhile but undervalued , and in need of help.  

I'm really disappointed with eBay, the new rules, I think are going to affect lots of members and most likely eBay's reputation and profits too!

It's happened again. An order on monday royal mail has not updated the tracking. But I have received feedback from them (same buyer)

Update: after looking into it more it's since my recent items have been like this. This is not a royal mail issue in my screenshot. Ebay isn't updating post status. Which shows another issue 😭. Royal mail thankfully is updated with these recent items I've sent off. Strange it's either one or the other that has issues

The way I see it is that if eBay cannot see any proof ofdelivery then, the seller does not get paid. Simple.

I have now reduced all my listing to next to nothing hopingto get as much sold before the 4th Feb because what I have left then will haveto go in the rubbish bin because I there is nowhere else I can sell

eBay says if there is no proof of delivery, payment will be made after 14 days

Be aware that the new rules have actually already started! At least they have for me.

Sold an item today listed as second class large letter (£1.55)

Yet on my eBay confirmation email it insists that I send Tracked! This will cost me an extra  £1.20 and totally destroys any profit! 
Im beginning to wish I hadn’t started selling on eBay again….Seems more haste than it’s worth! 🤦‍♂️

We can complain from now until doomsday but eBay willchange nothing eBay are not bothered about losing a few sellers they haveplenty, and with the price that Royal mail are charging to post items it lookslike Royal mail are trying to put eBay and others out of business

Nobody has to pay anything to “SIGN” any petition. 
You can opt to make a payment to support the visibility of any survey but it’s entirely voluntary.

i was just making a comment that I had seen a petition. I’m not specifically advising anyone to sign as that’s a personal decision.

i just thought some posters may be interested.

Actually it's a petition set up by someone who went off on one without bothering to check their facts, presumably like all the people who signed it.

She has already been corrected on the other forums she has posted on.

Thank you for sharing the petition … yes , we can choose to share the petition with others rather than pay to sign … I think we need more sellers to support this petition , to helps break this very bad changes decided for us by eBay’s policy makers … the whole thing seems to be a loophole created to make more money from sellers … it is a very big step backward for eBay …

The new rules won't work it will cause more problems and issues with ebay than before. You will attract more scamming for goods not received by the actual buyer saying item not received even after item has been delivered. The buyer will receive item and dispute with ebay that items not received which will cause more problems with ebay resolution and loads of headache for the sellers whos not even received payment. NEW RULES WILL RUIN EBAY BAD IDEA 💡

There needs to be a petition and ebay needs to listen.  What about sellers who post items with stamps ONLY not recorded delivery. Buyer can just say item not received before even paying out within the 2 days so they get a free item not good idea Ebay will lose so many sellers this way on new payment rules on ebay also sellers won't pay to deliver goods EVEN before being payed ANYTHING. MADNESS 😱

I think Ebay must be trying to put anyone off selling on there. I can't even be bothered anymore. Used to get cash instantly, then 1-2 days and now upto 2 weeks 🤣 Who is actually making these decisions? Obviously someone who has never sold anything on Ebay.

EBay has to find another way to recover the 15% cut which they were kind enough to give back to us since end 2024 . The delay with our fund availability , will help ebay to gain some interest from the bank , with their capital . However , what really unfair is , instead of giving us the democratic choice : whether to keep that 15% of proceed , or , to wait a little longer for the fund to be available , they just kinda made the decisions for us . I was thinking to put all of my items for sale on hold , but then again , i will be only hurting my own sales … ebay leave us no choice but, but have to accept what they are stuffing into our throat , and that is pretty shxxty …
