Unfortunately, you have received some very poor responses to your question. 

All refunds go back to source so that all parties involved are aware of the refund.  If you paid with PayPal funded by your debit card or bank account (direct debit) then the refund will go back to your bank account after PayPal receive it. 

If you used your bank account as the funding source then the refund may appear in your bank account instantly but it can take up to 2 working days to appear.  If you used a debit card then it won't be instant and will usually take between 2 and 5 working days to appear in your bank account.

PayPal said that the refund was paid on the 30 July, but my bank has no information about that transaction at all

How did you fund PayPal - bank account, debit card, or credit card?

Aaah I was only going by the information the OP provided in that post,  that is,  she paid with PayPal, sounding like PayPal funds.  So the refund would go back to her PayPal account, answer was correct.

However,  if a card was used  that's connected to PayPal then yes it goes back to that funding source.  The OP unfortunately when I answered,  did not provide that information. 🤔
