Payment Policy

The new payment system is Totally Unfair.   Last week I had funds "on hold pending delivery" to ebay's hub for overseas shipping.  Although I sent by Tracked 24 the tracking was still not updated over a week later. Further down in the tracking information it said  "item delivered" and two days later I received a message from ebay saying " your item has been shipped"!!  It actually left the hub and I STILL hadn't been paid because the tracking only said "received at post office"???  This has now happened AGAIN - last week I sent another, **far more expensive**, item to the hub for Global Shipping.  Yet again the tracking only says "received at post office" - although AGAIN further down the tracking info it says "item delivered"??   I have telephoned ebay and they agree, but nobody seems to know what to do about it??  I have spoken to both customer service AND payments, but all they will say to me is that they have "opened a ticket" with my complaint!!!??? Meanwhile they are holding on to hundreds of pounds of MY money which I need!!!  I have been an ebay member for almost 15 years but really this ridiculous payment policy makes me seriously consider whether it is worth all this hassle.   Am I in the minority??

Join the club!!-GSP has got to rank alongside the DVLA for total uselessness. Item sent a week ago, received today in France, GSP tracking-"not yet received". Think I shall be ditching GSP and sending by RM Int. Tracked in future.

This process has left me a nervous wreck. You ship item by tracked 24 to Global Shipping Hub, never updates on tracking from 'received at North West Midlands MC' and hundreds of pounds on hold by ebay, days later, no clue where item is or when it will finally turn up tracked somewhere. Only changed to this awful system because of new rules for private sellers, grossly unfair, only option now seems to be to stop selling abroad at all. Not worth the hassle.

I completely agree, and I speak from experience. The exact same thing has just happened to me. Tracking never updated from Royal Mail midlands hub and eBay refused to release payment. This was a painting I had owned for years and I decided to sell as I have an expensive month for insurance etc. I couldn’t sleep for the past week worrying that I’d lost the painting and the money. EBay wouldn’t help and Royal Mail (after being on hold for 45 minutes) said they couldn’t help either.
Then last night a message arrived from the buyer IN FRANCE saying they loved the painting, and he left feedback too. I rang eBay yet again and they finally released my money. What would have happened if he hadn’t messaged or left feedback as many people don’t??? All he had to say is that he hadn’t received it and I would have lost everything. Appalling and Totally Unfair policy. How can you impose a system on people which is fundamentally flawed and the basics don’t work???

Join the club...Ive put in a complaint with Royal Mail now as well.

I eventually got all the money owed...all my items are under £10 so had to wait 14 days even though buyer had confirmed delivery and left positive feedback.

Disgusted with eBay and now looking at Vinted.

The eBay integration with the GSP hub is non-existent presently. It's ridiculous that one can see tracking from the hub at https://trackpb.shipment.co/track but eBay's tracking system can't.
