Order cancelled no refund received

I bid on  (and won) an item early December. Paid the same day. Heard absolutely nothing so contacted the seller with no response. Waited and now 5 weeks after went to raise it with eBay. However I can't as it is saying the order was cancelled. The problem I have is it was cancelled but I never received a refund. eBay seems to have no articles relating to this and no way of contacting them with a general enquiry. When I go to raise an issue with the order it says I can't as it was cancelled and thus I am stuck. 

Any ideas?

When the item was cancelled was this done through eBay channels,  did eBay send you a message that a refund is being processed?  If so refunds go back to original payment source,  check there for it, if you pad with a credit card,  it will go back to that card account and can take 30 days,  so should be there now.

If not,  try your payment provider for help with a refund, as 5 weeks is too late now to claim anything under eBay's 30 day MBG,  Money Back Guarantee policy.
