Offers

Apols this has probably been asked before but I'm very new to the Forum.

Q. I sell and buy on eBay. When I get an offer from a potential buyer which I accept the item doesn't close until the seller has paid. Sometimes they don't pay and im left wondering and frustrated.

If I make an offer I have to confirm

my payment details and if my offer to a seller is accepted the payment is automatically taken.

Can someone tell me why my buyers aren't automatically paying if their offer is accepted?

You may not have this option below selected in your Site Preferences,  see here:

Go to your Site Preferences,  link below,  you can select that your buyer has to provide a payment method when making an offer .

Buyer rules

Some sellers have deselected the immediate payment as this then gives the buyer more choice of different payment methds at eBay checkout.

If there is no payment for your items  after 4 days, cancel the order citing Buyer Has Not Paid, and you can relist the item.

To be fair I personally have found,  some buyers wrongly  think when their offer has been accepted they have paid.  After  a few days I have sent an invoice with a polite message to pay and payment I found is then sent promptly.  Sending an invoice can reset the clock back 4 days for payment again, but as the item is still listed for sale until payment is made, I feel no harm done, and the result might be that payment.
