So due to a trouble maker I’m blocked on eBay my selling account has been suspended. That’s fine as I no longer want to sell on eBay as it’s far too stressful. However eBay suspend the payment account in advance of a decision so the balance can increase. I now have £1645 sitting in an eBay account that’s suspended for sales only.
I have verified my identity as requested but been told it takes up to 170 days for eBay to process this. How can they keep my balance for so long?
I know eBay brought in temporary free selling to try and blast the competition out of the water but it also seems that it’s given them more power to suspend accounts and keep the sellers capital for half a year. How many billions of peoples money are they holding, skimming the interest from? Has anyone had legal advice regarding this?

Its 180 days, not 170 days
And yes, eBay have held funds for this long for many years, its not a new thing

Not a very helpful reply.

You have been accused by the buyer of selling fakes (rightly or wrongly, neither I nor eBay know if this is true)
So eBay hold onto your funds in case they need to refund any of your buyers in the next six months and to prevent Money Laundering (under new government legislation)
Not sure exactly what answer would satisfy you, but yes eBay will hold your money for up to 180 days.
Nobody here can change that.

Ok that clarify’s a bit more. Yes one buyer out of over 200 of the same item sold because I blocked him due to rudeness and dishonesty.

Hi,
I'm pretty much in the same situation as you, mc011 and my funds have been suspended. I'm wondering if you got your funds back or are they still with ebay?
Kind regards
