ID verification

Hi,

I recently was prompted to verify my account with photo ID, I dont have any of the documents listed and have read on here that Ebay will sometime accept a birth certificate and recent proof of adress ie a bill, These i do have. I contacted Ebay support and was told to go get photo ID instead of adressing my message which i found quite rude and i wanted to ask if there was a way of veryfying with this information or who i would need to talk to to use the alternate method.

Thanks

ID verification

Birth certificates are not proof of ID

Anyone can apply for your birth (or death or marriage) certificate

They are publicly available documents that anyone can apply for

I have a drawer full of birth certificates I applied for when doing family tree research (for people both dead and still alive)

Therefore it does not prove your ID

You can get a provisional driving licence that has a photo ID that is accepted by eBay

This is one of the ones i found that mentioned being able to use other documents
