Fees paid for a sale

Despite the headline news that, as of 01 October, there are no fees for selling on eBay there are still some listing fees which are payable - for example: Reserve Price, subtitle, listing in a second category and Promoted Listings. My gut feeling is that the fees which you have been charged are due to you opting for one or more of these upgrades.

It's well worth checking he Fees for private sellers page on Help&Support:

Looks like eBay have taken the £2.94 to cover the Evri postage charge, have you paid for this separately?

I think the penny's just dropped with me, @theplantseller

Could it be an Evri shipping surcharge? Although Royal Mail have a single price for delivery anywhere in the UK most courier companies now add a surcharge for delivery to places like Highlands&Islands and other 'remote' parts of the UK. Some even add surcharges for delivery to certain postcodes with the London ULEZ or whatever it's called.

My guess is the buyer's address is in a location which attracts a surcharge.

Went out from where?

Most postage bought on ebay now gets deducted from the payout.

Hi theplantseller, thanks for your post.

It looks like the deduction you're referring to is related to the cost of the shipping label, which is deducted from your payout. If you click here, you can see a full breakdown of your payout and see any deductions applied to your payout and what they are related to as well (item number, shipping label, fees if any, etc)

Thank you,

Marco

What was the answer then?  It would be useful to know.

As papso22 says it would be useful to know the answer so we may advise other sellers in a similar situation.

Was it the postage charge deduction as I suspected?
