Ebay holding you funds

Is it normal for ebay to hold you funds? I've used ebay all my life and my thought via the consumer right act is that once an item is sold your to get paid for that item but the middle man (ebay) aren't releasing the funds.... I thought maybe I could sell something to help fund Christmas but they are dodging every ways of getting me my funds. If this was done in person it would be a simple cash transaction for the item. Ive spoke to about 5 different people who all told me that the funds where in my account  available for withdraw then 1 person made me change / verify my bank. And guess what this can take up to 5 working days and even after that I still don't see it being resolved! Dipping and dodging around a simple withdraw yet constantly telling me I can spend the balance on eBay !!

Firstly you need a bank account registered with eBay to receive any payments and yes this can take 5 working days, sometimes longer .

As a new seller your payments may be placed on hold for up to 30 days it's all explained here Payment Holds

Once you have an established selling record and meet the criteria payments are released in 24 hours.

With a seller rating of only 50% it was likely your payment will be placed on hold.
