Cannot add tracking number

I have just posted an item by Royal Mail. Then tried to add the tracking number into eBay using Google Chrome on Windows 11. Only to get an error message “Unknown error occurred while updating tracking information…”

Tried again using the eBay app. Same error. Google Chrome again this time in incognito mode. Same error. Windows Edge. Same error. 
I contacted eBay and they tell me that they cannot add the tracking on my behalf. So, no proof of no proof of delivery no money. 
Anyone else had this issue?

Is this still happening to you? If so, would you be able to confirm the item number and upload a screenshot of the error in question, so we can report this for you to get it fixed and prevent it from happening again?

Hi @cathy_rindhoops   don't worry about doing this privately, details of the item sold, item number etc. are visible to all here, your items for sale and sold are visible  just by clicking on your Listings.

Perfectly OK and safe to give marco@ebay  your item number here.

The item number would be ok, as that is not really sensitive or personal information. Same about the screenshot, unless it shows any kind of sensitive/personal information. If it shows any personal information on the screenshot, feel free to send a private message, but please note that I would still reply here, as we don't really offer 1 to 1 support over private messages.

eBay add tracking number I've got to a point now they don't care about the customer as long as they're getting their money that's all they're bothered about the new system is diabolical and idiot must have designed it  was so easy before why do they go messing with things if things carry on like this I will look for another way to sell things and stop using eBay
