Italian Calciatori anyone?

Hi guys,

Any vivid collector of the Calciatori (Italian league) panini albums?

I am missing a couple of stickers from the 80/81 album and the 86/87 album?

I have loads to exchange from the 70's 80's and 90's.

Re: Italian Calciatori anyone?

Hi Ian hope u are well pal. I have just recently purchased these -

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150987910802?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

My 1st venture into Calciatori.

I have checked the Italian Ebay site and as you can imagine there are TONS

of albums/stickers on sale. I was wondering what the demand for these albums/

stickers are outside of Italy? Do you think they are worth collecting/investing in?

Re: Italian Calciatori anyone?

Hi Alec,

I managed to purchase 5 albums recently from the 1970's era. I bought them quite cheap in my opinion only around 30 euro (£25) each. I bought them locally and not through ebay. They are in good condition and complete.

I recently sold 2 albums to Germany and Australia. They might be demanded in other countries but most of the times they are wanted in Italy.

To be honest Italians have tons of these albums around. In my opinion, on Ebay.it they are quite overpriced and they charge very high shipping costs. I am not comfortably to purchase from Italians and sell to Italy due to big issues related to post.  One other thing related to Calciatori albums is that the album has too much stickers in my opinion. the latest editions have over 700!

I would more gladly invest in WC or Euro albums (pre 1998) as they might fetch higher prices. I might also try out the Champions league editions.

What are you planning to collect from the Calciatori?

Re: Italian Calciatori anyone?

Ian first of all thank you so much for the stickers you sent me pal i very much

appreciate your kindness 🙂

TBH the Calciatori stickers i bought were in my 'watch' list at a 'buy now or make an offer' for AGES when the seller (who ive bought a few items off of) amended it to a 99p start auction. I really didnt know how much they are truley worth however the £40 approx i paid for them maybe be about right??

I think you are right about selling/buying from Italy - appears that postal service to and from there is dodgy to say the least.

I really dont know whether to further my Calciatori venture and/or what to collect. Items from this series dont often come up on Ebay UK. I remember a seller from Argentina about 6 months ago who sold loads of different albums from early 70's to the 90's and some of the prices that they sold for raised my eyebrow that it may be a good series to invest in.

I too like you Ian am mainly sticking to WC/Euro's for the longer term investment but i will definetely keep my eye out for more from this series.

Alec

Re: Italian Calciatori anyone?

Hello Ian,

Thanks for your comments. I agree completely, there are literally thousands of these 70's and 80's Panini Album Calciatori scattered around Italy and your right most of them on Ebay are way over priced. Not to mention postage being very high as well. Don't know what it is with the Italian postal system people always talk about. Personally I have bought hundred's of items from Italy (Panini albums, stickers, DVD's etc) and never had an issue with items going missing. Maybe I've just been incredibly lucky!

Anyway they are a great investment particularly the pre-1980's albums. So far I only have two of these in my collection, one of them is the 1977-78 album that the previous owner had purchased a brand new cover directly from Panini and had this put onto the internal pages. Looks amazing like the day it came off the printing press, very lucky to have it and got it for a very reasonable price.

Look forward to hearing more from you about your collection.

Kind regards,

Nicholas
