first off, thanks to Alec for taking his time and resources to do this...!

anyway, theres been a few results that have come from out the blue IMO.. Costa Rica over Uraguay, WOW.. and then you look back at your predictions and think, "why did i ever think they would win..?" its a lot closer than i'd have thought too and some matches definately throwing heads..

Thanks Paul 🙂  The great thing about this competition is that it just takes a couple of results to go your way and your back in the race again!

The games so far have been brilliant! Most teams have been attacking from the off which has made for great viewing. Was really impressed with France the other night.

What do you guys think about Rooney? Should he start the next match for England?

Rooney, IMO, has no track record in WC or Euro and shouldnt be there. He performed 1 excellent cross that led to the goal and nothing more the whole match. He even missed that sitter which normally he'd have buried for fun at Man U.

Rooney should have been pulled off in the 60th and made way for Lambert or Lalana

Rooney was not interested in tracking back against Italy and heaped major pressure on Baines. Dont get me wrong i think Rooney is an excellent player but his work-ethic (especially this season) has been extremely poor. He was caught out of position SO many times in the Italy game. His only saving grace was the ball he crossed in for Sturridge.

IMO Rooney DOES expect to be a starter in the England squad despite his recent statement saying he doesnt. But will Hodgson have the balls to drop him? I dont know tbh.

On another subject i was really impressed with Joel Campbell's performance with Costa Rica. Arsene Wenger will be rubbing his hands together lol

is it three points for a correct score? how many for guessing the right team?

Pete it is 3 points for correctly guessing the exact score at either the end of 90 mins or if game goes to extra-time at the end of 120mins. 1 point is awarded if you predict the correct winner but dont get the exact score-line. For example tonight's game between Colombia and Uruguay finished 2-0. If you predicted 1-0 to Colombia you would get 1 point. Pete during the knock-out stage points are awarded at the end of either 90 or 120mins. Although Brazil won, the game finished 1-1 at the end of 120mins so points were awarded based on this score.
