At a guess, ebay realise you should be a business seller.

So looks like you need to upgrade account to release hold.

I don't understand why eBay have waited to now, without a doubt you should be trading on an eBay business account.

A private seller is one who is just selling off their own personal items such as clothes from their wardrobe, bits from their loft/garage etc.

A Business seller is someone who buys or makes items to sell on.  They need to be registered as a business to meet the requirements of UK law. They need to declare income to HMRC once they reach £1,000 worth of sales (eBay will be providing HMRC with your details anyway so it's vital to keep correct accounts for your tax return). You can obviously offset more expenses as a business seller, but can't offset any at all as a private one.

To correctly register as a business seller simply go to your Personal Information in your account and to the right of Account Type, which will be showing as 'Individual'  you'll see an Edit option.

This doesn't affect your feedback profile or any current listings, it merely upgrades your account so that you're compliant with current consumer and eBay policy.

you can not make it up

so the normal response ,did not ask for it

was just stating fact from ebay

1 not a business ok

2 where in my history on this platform do you see items i buy and sell ? i don't where's the proof?

3 how do you you assume i make and sell items ? but have no proof ?

4 you know nothing about what i have or haven't ,and where items that sell came from

5 you all spout about consumer law on ebay, but never state the facts about 2 individual's selling and buying from each other ebay do not have anything to do with items (so we are always told )

they get you lot to do all the questions and answers so as not to be bothered them selves , so here is the fact

Consumer protection laws do not apply to your purchases from other consumers. More specifically, the right to cancel (section 29(1) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulatio...) and the right to reject (section 20 of the Consumer Rights Act) does not apply. Buyer’s rights are significantly reduced when a sale is carried out between two individuals. More specifically, the following sections of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 do not apply: goods to be of satisfactory quality (section 9 of the Consumer Rights Act) and fit for a particular purpose (section 10 of the Consumer Rights Act). Goods from private sellers do not have to be fault-free and if defects or marks were clearly mentioned by the seller or are visible in the seller’s photograph, then you do not have a case against the seller.

ty goodbye
