the seller i contacted regarding an item that failed under warranty did not respond so i went to the manufacturer direct an received a full refund other buyers who are having similar problems might try this route

Was this purchase from a UK registered business?

I always thought ( perhaps wrongly then) that a warranty belongs to the first purchaser, so cannot be handed over,  not transferable  to another owner / buyer.

Usually items bought on ebay, the manufacturer won't get involved with warranties.

Some items are sold through non authorised sellers.
