buyer from Redcar, United Kingdom:
He buys on eBay and then even picks up the items himself, only he has some excuses not to share the code. He's a very smiling, polite, and trustworthy scammer. Once you do business with him, you're left with a long battle with eBay to get your funds back, because you'll forget about the items. He ignores calls and emails, using something he calls "eBay policy," whatever that means. 90% of his positive reviews are scams. Steer clear of this guy. I'm not the first person to have problems with him, so I'm writing this post for your own good. Best regards!

Unfortunately if sellers don't follow eBay procedure then they have problems.
Never release the goods until you get the code.

Your not allowed to nameshame on these boards so no doubt your post will soon be edited but the solution is not to release any items without getting the collection code,no code=no goods

What was the scam? You talk about 'getting your funds back', how did you lose them in the first place and how did you get them back?
Normally this type of scam only works if the buyer doesn't provide the code and then claims item not received, if this is what happened how did you fight it?

Collection codes exist to protect sellers from just this sort of situation.
If the buyer uses eBay's mony back guarantee to claim not to have received the item, you will have to refund them. You will probably have little if any chance of "getting your funds back".
Do you have any other proof that this buyer collected the item, e.g. did you ask for ID, note his vehicle registration? Any doorbell camara footage? Was anyone else present as a witness? eBay probably won't take account of this, but you could try taking it to the police as a case of fraud.
The moral is that next time, no code no collection!
