toxic liquid delivered leaking

I have received heavy duty weedkiller in just a plastic bag and it is leaking. The courier warned me and I warned him what the content was as he had it on his hands.

When I have purchased this before it comes in a special bottle with a measurer incorporated, boxed and well wrapped in another box.

I reported to the seller and have been offered 20% refund.

I am not prepared to open the package, risking a flood of toxic fluid, even wearing rubber gloves. It is currently in a bucket waiting to be taken to the special area at the local tip.

There is no option for this kind of problem in the report to Ebay, so when I did a report they have come back saying there is nothing wrong with the listing.

But the listing, which clearly shows the official box which describes the measuring system, is not the problem, it is the inadequate packaging that is the problem and item delivered damaged and I believe, not in the official bottle.

I need this for my allotment and want to buy from another seller, but I need a full refund from the first seller.

You will have to open a return through Ebay, just as you would if you received any other faulty item.

Use the reason 'arrived damaged'.

Hopefully, you bought this from a UK business seller.

The seller can then send a return label or refund without return.

If they don't refund, and seem to expect a return, you will have to contact Ebay and explain that you cannot return this hazardous item.

However, that is a bridge to be crossed when you get to it.

Start by opening a return using the Money Back Guarantee.

No special option is needed, just open a case uder eBay's money back guarantee.

The seller probably won't want the leaking bag to be returned, but if they do you can contact eBay customer support. There is (or used to be) a statement in the money back gyarantee policy that hazardous items e.g. broken glass, leaking fluids, don't have to be retruned. I'ts probably still there, but reading through it has become such a pain since they changed it for the present "Noddy" edition which you have to repeatedly click to expand the content.

thanks done the return, and yes a Welsh company actually.
I put a note about the return difficulties in the notes box.
Another buyer had noted small leak which had dampened the box, but I have
no box, just a plastic bag.
🤞
