i just sold and item which the buyer paid postage on and e bay are demanding £3.50 for postage from me !!!!!!

anyone else experience this fraud ?

Buyer always pays one way or another, BUT they may BUY the postage or They MAY pay money to you plus the item price and it is then up to you to buy the postage.

Only you know which option buyer was  given.

You quote postage as £1.55, but I doubt this item is in a category that is exempt from using Simple Delivery, so not sure how you were able to load this method of postage.
