I am planning to send a large order to Germany via Royal Mail click and drop.
I have never used click and drop before but the eBay GSP shipping quote is incredibly expensive in comparison . What I would like to know, is will I have a lot of paper work to print out and how does my customer pay the customs duty?
Thanks

Ebay collect VAT at the German Rate from buyer, you will need to add the VAT information, shown under buyers address, onto the package.
VAT PAID IOSS followed by a number
I always write this under the address. If this is not done, buyer will be asked to pay the VAT again.
You will also need to add a Customs Declaration to the package, obtainable from Post Office, simple to complete, you will just need to find the Tariff Code, use this link

Thanks for the help. I have bought the postage via click and drop, Royal Mail are bringing the label for the parcel. When I entered the details for the label it added the IOSS number so I am hoping it will be on the label they bring.
Neither of my two local post offices had the CN23 form, both said they have never heard of it and tried to give me the CN22 label instead. I have now printed one off. Could I check with you the section category of an item as I cannot find clarification on line. From the following options -
GIFT
DOCUMENTS
COMMERCIAL SAMPLE
RETURNED GOODS
OTHER
I think I select OTHER then where it says explanation do I need to say Ebay sale or similar as it is not clear to me.
Also, in the help for filling in your form it says attach invoice - so do they just want a copy of the ebay sale attached as well?
I really appreciate the help.
Thanks

I assume as a business seller you are registered with the German Packaging Act - you have not mentioned this.
'The German Packaging Act (VerpackG), enacted in 2019, obligates manufacturers and distributors to ensure the collection and recycling of packaging waste they place on the market for the first time. This means companies must register with a LUCID register and participate in a dual system, ensuring that packaging is re-integrated into the material cycle.'
You need to tick Sale of Goods on the CN22

Hi
I need the CN23 customs form due to the value of the order. I have now found it with the click and drop documents - i didn't initially see it.
However, I think this will now be irrelevant as I have not heard of this requirement to register for LUCID.
I don't usually sell abroad. The customer contacted me to ask if I would sell to her and ship to Germany, which I agreed to do.
From what I have quickly read on line i need to buy a license for 39 euros. - do you know if this is correct?
Thanks

As a business you'll also have the joy of having to register for GPSR, that won't be cheap. I actually stoped shipping to some countries because it was no longer cost effective.
eBay have come up with an excellent tool that you can use to check what regulations apply:

If its a one off you should be fine, however if its a regular thing you don't need to buy a license per se but be registered with the German authorities, their own website is helpful (and in English) it is here: https://www.verpackungsregister.org/en/registration/find-out-about-registrations
You will need your EORI, (if you have one) VAT number (if you have one) or NINO it takes 5 minutes to register. You'll then get your unique number (it starts DE then is numerial) You then need to put this number on ebay if you wish to continue to sell regularly there. That number is added here: https://accountsettings.ebay.co.uk/profile Towards the bottom of page.
In answer to your other points, if you are using a CN23 then the order value is over £250, all Duty and Vat is paid locally in Germany. The buyer will be notified by Deutshe Post (or who ever the carrier is).
Ensure you use a tracked service and make sure the number is uploaded against the order.
