Are you buying the label on line or doing the paperwork at the PO?

In short you'll need your senders details, tick the sale of goods box, brief item description and value and sign at the bottom (if online it will auto generate a lot of this if filling in at time of booking label.)

This is purely a paperwork exercise due to EU agreements, Windsor Framework etc.

Thank you very much for your reply - I am sending via Parcelforce, first time for both - I had 4 copies to attach as custom docs - the bit I was unsure of  was  at the end - there is a open box next to 'reason for export' and a declaration below - ... 'these products are of ------- preferential origin' - just wasn't sure whether I needed to put anything in -  I have signed printed and dated - I have attached a copy to illustrate. Thank you again - much appreciated.

sending an item from uk to Northen Ireland - help with custom docs

Hi so update on this - it got there ok, so to recap - I booked the delivery online using Parcelforce - (I had to use Parcelforce due to the size and weight of the parcel I was sending) When you book, it asks for details of parcel contents, which I entered - then when booked and paid for, it asks you to print the postage label and  four identical customs docs - all I did was date, sign and print my name on the bottom of each and attach them to the parcel in an envelope marked 'Custom Docs' separately from the address label as instructed and then I dropped the parcel off at the post office. Despite entering my phone and email details I have had no updates from Parcelforce, so I've been checking its progress via the tracking number. It arrived safely so that part worked ok.
But I have a problem with the customer, Parcelforce attempted delivery but the customer wasn't in, there is an option to arrange a date place time, so I messaged my customer through ebay to let them know, just incase - no reply - this happened twice and currently the parcel is waiting to be collected by them from a local post office - all very frustrating as my funds are on hold.

So I spoke to a ebay advisor, who informed me that, 'funds will only get released once the item is delivered' - or collected in this case.  'If buyer does not collect the item, and you get the item back. Buyer has to contact eBay in 30 days to file a dispute for refund, at that time, eBay will deduct applicable fees before refund'.
I asked, 'What happens if they don't file for a dispute?' - 'In that case, buyer has 30 days to report us for item not received.. Once the time frame is over, order will not be eligible for dispute. In that case you can choose to refund the buyer, if the buyer contacts you after 30 days'.

I then asked, as my customer hasn't replied to any of my messages, what happens if something untoward has happened to them? - 'In case of any unforeseen circumstances, once the time frame is over, seller does not have to refund to the buyer. eBay will handle the case and provide a resolution based on the circumstances'.
So there you have it, my advice would be to think twice - is the sale going to be worth the outlay and effort?
Thank you again tommystrezures and kind regards to you all oakamber

Thank you for responding;  much appreciated  --- this will be helpful when responding to sellers needing advice with similar shipping issues to Northern Ireland,

The Government is currently having discussions on a Brexit 'reset' to improve trade relations and reducing Cross Border restrictions /bureaucratic hurdles in future so likely things may change again ?,
