I am creating a listing to sell a bike but at the point I sent buy it now, it won't let me choose how the buyer will pay. I want them to pay by BACS but it only has a cash option. Is this a technical issue or have I not found the correct option to set up a BACS payment for buyers?

unless its a motorbike the seller must pay through eBay checkout.

You cannot ask for cash or such like.

Bikes what type of bike, as not all bikes are covered on ebay.

If classed as a vehicle then and best using a classified add you can choose how your buyer pays when they decide to buy the bike.Selling with Classified Ads | eBay

Assuming that it's a pedal bike you can't specify the payment method. The buyer will pay eBay, not you, and by one of the methods that eBay accepts (which don't include BACS). The buyer has to pay eBay before you can dispatch the bike, or provide a collection address.

If you're selling a motorbike it would be different.

p.s. having looked at your items for sale, if it's the very fancy Yamaha that you're selling as a classified ad for £58k be VERY careful. It will be a scam magnet. You're asking for BACS, but be sure to check that this isn't above your banks limit for BACS.

Hi

Thank you

Yes it’s a bike and yes we made an admin error with the decimal point.

So as it’s a classified item and a motor bike, does this mean we can’t set up any other payment other than cash - there is no other selection option aka pay through eBay!

Also I see there is no seller protection ?

for vehicles there's no buyer protection and its unsafe to accept anything but cash or such like.

As a classified ad its all between you and the buyer eBay won't be involved and don't take down the ad until you have been paid.

That's because it's entirely up to you how you want to be paid.

A classified ad replicates using a classified ad in e newspaper. You pay for the ad, but the transaction is between you and the buyer. eBay isn't involved at all.

Pity about the decimal point - I though it must be one heck of a special model!
