selling a cycling helmet

I tried to list for sale a used undamaged cycling helmet. In my draft listing, eBay kept changing its condition to new and inserted a manufacturer's one year guarantee, which did not apply as I had owned it for more than a year. Why?

Some used items are not allowed to be sold on safety grounds, looks this is one of them.

 Same with baby items.
