saved searches and inappropriate results

I dont understand whats going on with saved searches lately.

I have items in my saved search list and ebay has always notified me when a matching item comes up.

but just lately ebay seems to be ignoring the filters I've set in my saved searches eg: I always specify UK as the location but ebay keeps notifying me of stuff in the USA. so I delete the saved search and redo it and ebay does the same thing. I often specify brand name in the search string as well but ebay notifies me of stuff that has nothing to do with the brand I've specified.

or is ebay in desperate straits and this is their way of trying to cope with it?

Search is for ITEM location, seller can be based anywhere in the world and have a UK warehouse. 

Best to use advanced search on left of page to refine options then save it.

thats not the case with the results I'm getting. I'm specifying UK and both the seller and his item is in the USA.
