Re: returns label for global shipping

If you've started a return you will be able to escalate to eBay after 3 complete working days but eBay cannot enforce the issue of a paid-for returns label when the seller is outside the UK.

Re: returns label for global shipping

Find the item on your purchase history page > Returns and cancelled at the top.   Then click on "View return details" for the item and you should see the option to print label.

Re: returns label for global shipping

If seller has already refunded you, ebay close case & won't expect you to return item.

This can happen with non UK items, may be cheaper for seller to refund without return.

If seller wants item back, they need to supply label or money outside ebay.

Re: returns label for global shipping

You may be able to buy a label through the return request to send to the buyer.     But it's more usual for buyers to have to buy their own label when they're outside the UK.

Re: returns label for global shipping

If you have refunded buyer, it is up to you to sort returns label or refund outside ebay.

Re: returns label for global shipping

Once you refunded buyer case closes.

You should have got item back before refunding.

International returns are always a problem.

Re: returns label for global shipping

Usually, when you have sent an item with Global Shipping, you have to negotiate with your buyer to get the item back.  It doesn't come back via the same route, the buyer has to post it directly to you.

I assume it was a 'not as described' case so you were responsible for postage.

There is no way for you to supply or purchase the label through Ebay.  Often, you moght be expected to send the buyer postage so they can pay to send the item back.

It is messy and difficult.

If you want the buyer to send the item back, you should contact them and see if you can arrange something.

Re: returns label for global shipping

so what your saying is that eBay does not do it

No, eBay does not help the seller to provide a prepaid return label for items sold abroad.

It's become a big problem and a serious deterrent against posting overseas. eBay now holds the seller responsible for the return.

From questions asked here, some sellers are already suggesting that buyers are opening "not as described" cases in the hope t getting a refund without having to return the item, because of the difficulty and cost of arranging a return, on top of refunding the original cost. Certainly we have heard from sellers who have done this.
